Gonzaga beat the highest ranked opponent they've ever faced in the Kennel. Timme looked every bit the part of the #1 Pre-season player of the year in scoring 37 points.
Texas is loaded with talent that hasn't played much and should be fine this year - looking forward to seeing where the Zags are at by the end of this month. They play Duke and UCLA later in the month.

I was so focused on hockey, I almost missed this one. Zags looked good at times and a little sloppy at others. They will need to bring their A-game on Saturday against Texas. Chet Holmgren looked really good in his Zag debut!

The Seattle Kraken get their 1st win in Climate Pledge Arena and their 2nd win of the Season over the Montreal Canadiens. 5 to 1 was the final score. Next Up the Minnesota Wild on Thursday. Season Record: 2-4-1

Huskies Lose Opener to Montana

I was pretty excited for the season to get started, but like most of the rest of nation (except for Griz Nation) I did not expect the Huskies to not only lose but get look so poor. Granted the starting receiving corps was not available , but other than than their initial possession the Huskies looked pretty dismal. Not to take anything away from the Grizzlies - they came to play and their senior quarterback from Issaquah probably still hasn't slept.

This was supposed to be a tune-up game for the prime time game next week at Ann Arbor against Michigan which I have been looking forward to ever since it was scheduled. I hope the team can put together a competitive game on Saturday, otherwise it will just be one more reason whay the Huskies and the Pac12 aren't respected by the rest of the country.

I'm becoming less and less of a fan of the Seattle Times but Mike Vorel's article in today's paper sums up the current situation fairly well.

Another slow start and the 85pts per game streak came to an end, but the Bulldogs prevailed over the Gaels to got to 14 and 0 on the season and 5-0 in West Coast Conference play.
