Congrats, Lancers!!!

Purdue Tops Gonzaga

Purdue is a good team with an outstanding 7' 4" center and a pair of Freshman guards that had an outstanding game. One they got the lead in the first half, the Zags could never get it back.

From the Associated Press:

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS PORTLAND — Zach Edey scored 15 of his 23 points in the final 15 minutes, Braden Smith and Fletcher Loyer each added 14, and the No. 24 Purdue men’s basketball team beat No. 6 Gonzaga 84-66 on Friday night in the semifinals of the eightteam Phil Knight Legacy tournament. Purdue’s 7-foot-4 center took over for stretches of the second half, but he had a good supporting cast. Purdue (5-0) shot 57% in the second half, made 6 of 11 three-point attempts and outrebounded the Zags 46-31. And Purdue had an answer for every run Gonzaga (4-2) tried to make. Purdue will play Duke in the championship game on Sunday, while the Zags will face Xavier in the third-place game. Drew Timme led Gonzaga with 22 points and nine rebounds in his highly anticipated matchup with Edey. Nolan Hickman added 15 but the rest of Gonzaga’s players were mostly absent at the offensive end. • In a late Thursday game, Malachi Smith led six players in double figures with a season-high 23 points and Gonzaga used a big first half to beat Portland State 102-78 in the opening round of the tournament.

Gonzaga Beats Kentucky

The Bulldogs and Wildcats both wanted to get back on the wining track tonight - Gonzaga came out full of energy and Kentucky came back late in the second half but came up short. The Zags dominated the boards - so glad to see this six game series get started. Next year it is in Lexington and then in Seattle in 2024.

Zags Beat Michigan State

Such a great venue on the deck of an aircraft carrier for this game and a great salute to the men and women of the Armed Forces!

Michigan state is a very good team and it was awesome to see the Zags go on an 11-0 run in the second half to get the lead back and eventually earn the win.

Tough non-conference schedule coming up and this was great test.

Huskies Win

The 2022 campaign was off to a decent start on Saturday. Transfer quarterback, Michael Penix looked mature, got protection and made solid throws including 4 TD passes in the season opener against Kent State.

Next up - Portland State

Seattle Mariners

The winning streak is now at 14 games!

and Ty France is an All Star! Congrats - well deserved!

Check this out!

Seattle Thunderbirds (11/27/2021)

We decided to catch a Thunderbirds game, since we hadn't been to one in several years. Great game - we will be back for more this season!

Seattle kept the Tri-Cities goalie pretty busy with 55 shots on goal!
Good seats on the South end where the opposing team defends during the 1st and 3rd periods.

Gonzaga Tops UCLA

Wow! Just wow! Its still really early in the season, but that was an impressive performance by the Zags over UCLA (83-63). Reminded me of what Baylor did to Gonzaga in last year's championship game.

So great to see Dickie V back on the sideline as well!

Chet Holmgren is one-of-a-kind

Really looking forward to the game against Duke on Friday.

Kraken Over the Caps 5-2 (11/21/2021)

I didn't get a chance to see this one, but it looks like it was a great game by the Kraken. Next up is Carolina at home.

Season Record: 5-12-1

Seahawks Shutout in Lambeau

Russell Wilson was shutout for the first time in his NFL career ay Lambeau Field. The Seahawk Defense looked really good - they just spent too much time on the field as the Offense struggled to get anything going. Russ might have come back too early - hard to tell. I think Geno would have been a good option after the Seahawks struggled in their first possession in the 3rd quarter .

Next game is home against the Arizona Cardinals

Jimmy Lake Fired

Still gets $9.9M over the next 3 years…

Arizona State Beats Huskies 35-30

The Huskies sure looked good at the beginning and then fizzled in the second half and were totally dominated in the fourth quarter.
I don't miss Jimmy Lake - I'd like to see more of the Morris/Huard platoon at quarterback the rest of the season.
